5 tips to be more healthier.

First off, I would like to start by saying that you are beautiful and loved. Ok second, you should want to be more healthier because YOU want to, not because someone else wants you too. Remember if you are hungry than EAT. Don't skip a meal. Ok, now on to the tips :)

1. Trick your mind into thinking your eating more. Ok this tip is pretty simple, use smaller plates and bowls. Why? You ask. Well if you eat on smaller plates and bowls, than it tricks your mind into thinking you are eating more. Then if you are truly hungry then you can always go back for seconds.

2. Keep Junk food out of sight out of mind. If you can, then go to your kitchen and get rid of sweets, soda and other unhealthy temptations. If you don't see these foods on a daily bases then you won't be tempted. But remember it IS ok to have a " cheat day " about once a week should be good.

3. Don't eat until you're stuffed.  Only eat until you're 80% full. Take smaller bits and truly enjoy the food. Don't eat when you're distracted like in front of a t.v. or computer.

4. Drink water when you think you're hungry. If it's between meals and then you get a sudden craving, it could be dehydration. So get your water and drink up. After you drink a glass and you still feel hungry then you can have a snack, just make sure it's truly hunger and not dehydration. You'll be surprised how much a glass of water can satisfy you.

5. Avoid emotional eating. How many times have you ever been sitting on the couch and then you think " i'm hungry" , in reality you're just bored. I'm guilty of this. Instead always keep yourself busy. Just go outside and walk or something that makes you happy besides eating.

Ok well, that is all. But remember you are all beautiful and you shouldn't be trying to lose weight unless you truly want to .

XOXO, Emily

5 ways to make over your look without spending a dime!

Whoever first coined the famous phrase “Beauty is pain,” was spot-on. Between trips to the hair salon, waxing appointments, and splurging on expensive skincare products, beauty is pain…painfully expensive! However, today I’m going to teach you that doesn’t have to be the case. Whenever I feel stuck in the same old Beauty routine, I turn to some foolproof primp tricks I keep in my back pocket. And they always work.

Without further ado, here are five ways to update your look without spending a dime:
  1. Change your part.
If you always sport a side swept ‘do, mix things up by parting your hair down the middle. Similarly, if you’re a center part kinda gal, go for a deep side part. You will be surprised how much it changes your facial features. And the best thing about it is that you can go back to your classic favorite in a matter of seconds.
  2. Try a bold lip or a cat eye.
You all know by now that my go-to eye makeup is a swipe of liquid liner on my top lid. I discovered this beauty look because I was not a huge fan of eyeshadow and I wanted to try something new. It instantly updated my look, and as you can see, I haven’t strayed from it since! Using a bold red, coral, or pink lip color can have the same effect. It adds a touch of glamour to your everyday beauty routine. If you don’t have liquid liner or a bright lipstick, you can always visit the beauty counters at your favorite department store and play around with a makeup artist until you find what suits you.
  3. Make a mask with things you already have in the kitchen.
It’s crazy how many face masks you can make with items you use for cooking your meals everyday. Sounds crazy, I know. One of my favorite DIY masks is this Greek yogurt mask that calms acne and hydrates dry skin. I’ve also read that you can make a mask by mixing up ½ avocado and the juice from ½ of a lemon. So grab your leftovers and get to work for refreshed and moisturized skin.
  4. Try a natural teeth whitener.
Drugstore whitening strips are great for brightening up your pearly whites. But if you’re looking for a wallet-friendly option, try mixing baking soda and lemon juice into a paste, then brushing it onto your teeth with a toothbrush. Leave the mixture on for about a minute, then brush it off. According to Health.com the baking soda will remove stains from your tooth enamel while the citric acid in the lemon juice will have a bleaching effect.
  5. Stand up straight.
Many of the best beauty secrets I’ve ever heard have been simple tips that help you not only look your best but feel your best too. Case in point: perfect posture. When I make an effort to stand up straight during the day, I find myself with a perky attitude and a more carefree disposition. Slumping over will do just the opposite, leaving you feeling lethargic and jaded. Stand up straight, ladies.

Do you have any tips for making over your look on a dime?

Leave them in the comments below.

How to clean your makeup brushes :)

So you know which brushes to use for contouring and which to for concealing. But did you know that you should be cleaning your makeup brushes? Washing your makeup brushes should be a regular part of your beauty routine. When you use your brushes, bits of makeup, oil, dirt, and even bacteria can get trapped in the bristles. So while it might seem basic, skipping this step can lead to clogged pores and pesky breakouts. Not to mention the fact that quality makeup brushes can be expensive. So learning how to properly clean them is one of the best ways to protect your investment.
Luckily, cleaning your makeup brushes is quick and easy. The first step to keeping your brushes clean is picking up a daily brush cleaner and spritzing it on your brushes after each use (I like Sephora’s Daily Brush Cleaner). Once a week, it’s time for a deep cleaning. (Note that your brushes will need a few hours to dry after a deep cleaning, so I’d recommend washing them after you’ve applied your makeup that day.)

Here’s the right way to deep clean your makeup brushes…
You will need:
• A shallow bowl
• Gentle clarifying shampoo or baby shampoo
• Your sink
• A lint free cloth
Instructions:
  1. Begin by running your brushes under lukewarm water, rinsing out all of the residual makeup. Try to focus on the actual bristles while avoiding the part of the brush where handle meets the head, as this can loosen the glue over time
  2. Fill a bowl with lukewarm water and a squirt of shampoo, and gently swirl your brush tip in the water. If you need to, you can also swirl the brush in the palm of your hand to work up a lather.
  3. Rinse the brush tip under running water once again. Repeat steps two and three until the water runs clear from the brush,
  4. Use a cloth to wipe your brush clean, reshaping the bristles as you go.
  5. Lay your brushes flat on a cloth to dry.

And there you have it! Your makeup brushes will be as clean a whistle. It’s also worth mentioning that there are specially formulated brush shampoos on the market. A gentle clarifying or baby shampoo will do the trick just fine though.
Are your brushes in need of a cleaning?
